Greetings From the Airwaves!

Seeing that this is my “First Blog”,….. Let’s see if I can screw it up!  :o)

I am now on ROCK 96 also!  Hey That right there is freakin’ cool!  Catch “BigVin’s Rockpile” Monday thru Friday 10am to 2pm.  Don’t forget about our “Amped Up Lunch” (Sponsered by our friends at Blue Bike Burrito).   Then I crank up the great Country Jams on Cat Country from 2 until 6pm.  What a Busy, but GREAT time!

I have just been added as the “color man”,….. to help my good friend Kit Donaldson out with broadcasts of the Marinette Marine Games on our Sister Station ESPN 570.   That is a cool gig also.  Kit is remarkable,… How he keeps track of everything,… I’ll never know!

HEY!  I just recieved an awesome honor over the weekend of September 15th.  I was named 2007 SOWI Songwriter of the Year!  That was unbelievable!   First time I “cried in public” in years!  (did I say that??)  It was truly an honor.    What is SOWI???  Well, it stands for Songwriters Of Wisconsin Internationl.  It is a group of songwriters worldwide, that,…. through workshops, and critiques,…..helps other songwriters better their craft of songwriting.  Each year they have a songwriting contest that is judged by members of the music community all over the WORLD.  Each song is judged on numerous categories and all the statistics are added up and that is how you get your winners,…..(places).  This year, there were 60 judges World Wide and after all was said and done,….. My song “She Dreams” was voted First Place in the “country-rock” category. “9 Times Out Of 10″ took top honors in the “open” category,….. and also runner up in the “traditional” category!  I also took a 3rd place with my Rock tune “Lonely Eyes”.   That was Awesome!,…… recieving the Songwriter Of The Year,….. was a Huge Surprise.   Wow,…. Still can’t believe it!
